Credit Card Transactions in the POS – Manual (Keyed) Entry
This article covers manual credit card entry in the BakeSmart POS system (registers/in-store). It should only be used when a card cannot be swiped, tapped, or inserted, or when processing card-not-present transactions such as phone orders. This procedure does not apply to the BakeSmart eCommerce App. Because keyed transactions carry higher processing fees and more chargeback risk, always collect as much customer information as possible (ZIP, address, CVV) to reduce risk.
