Customers use the public Inquiry Form to request products for specific dates and occasions, share budget expectations, and upload inspiration images. These requests are delivered directly into the BakeSmart app, where your team manages communication, quoting, and next steps—without relying on texts, emails, or phone calls.

What Inquiries Is in BakeSmart

Inquiries is a customer request and quote workflow that lives inside the BakeSmart app.

It allows customers to:

  • Request quotes for products
  • Select fulfillment dates
  • Choose an occasion
  • Provide guest count and budget information
  • Upload inspiration images

Submitted inquiries appear in the Inquiries Inbox, where your team can review the request, communicate with the customer, send quotes, and convert accepted inquiries into orders.


Where Inquiries Lives

All inquiry activity is managed inside the Inquiries Inbox in the BakeSmart app.

Only employees assigned to manage inquiries can access:

  • Incoming inquiry requests
  • Customer communication threads
  • Inquiry statuses
  • Quote and order actions related to inquiries

How Inquiries Work at a High Level

Inquiries in BakeSmart follow a structured workflow:

  1. A customer submits a request through the public Inquiry Form
  2. The request appears in the Inquiries Inbox inside the BakeSmart app
  3. Your team reviews the request and communicates with the customer
  4. A quote may be sent
  5. The customer accepts or declines the quote
  6. Accepted inquiries are converted into orders and payment is requested

This workflow keeps inquiry requests separate from active orders until they are approved and ready to move forward.


How Inquiries Fits Into the Order Workflow

Inquiries exist before an order is created and before payment is taken.

They allow your team to review request details, confirm availability, and determine pricing before committing an order to production. Once accepted, the inquiry follows the standard BakeSmart order and payment process.
