Creating a Signature Collection in BakeSmart

Signature Collections in BakeSmart work just like Custom Collections — they are templates that define the structure of your Signature Products. A Signature Collection does not lock down choices. Instead, it sets up the questions BakeSmart will ask when you create a Signature Product from the template.

Step 1: Navigate to Signature Collections

• From the Dashboard, click Products.
• In the left-hand menu, select Product Types > Signature.
• This will open the Signature Collections menu.

Step 2: Create a New Signature Collection

Click +Add Collection in the top right.

The New Signature Product Collection menu will appear.

Enter a clear name for the collection (e.g., Signature Cakes, Signature Cookies, Signature Cupcakes).

Choose the type of Custom Product(s) this collection will use:

• Pre-Selected Single Custom Item – Best for products built from one base product.
• Pre-Selected Multiple Custom Items – Best when building items that include multiple pieces or packs (e.g., multi-packs, dozens, tiered builds).

(Optional) Upload a photo or assign a sort order for organization.

Click Save Collection.

Step 3: Why No Choices Yet?

• Just like a Custom Collection, a Signature Collection is only a framework.
• You do not decide frosting, decoration, flavor, or other details here.
• Instead, you are telling BakeSmart:
  “When I build a Signature Product, these are the questions I want to answer.”
• When you later create a product from this collection, that is when you’ll assign the specific rules (e.g., lock frosting, lock filling, leave flavor open).

Next Step

Now that you have a Signature Collection, you can begin creating your first Signature Product. At the product level, you’ll connect it to a Custom Base Product, lock down specific selections, and prepare it for sale in-store and online.
