How to Set Availability in BakeSmart

The Availability tab in BakeSmart controls your store’s hours of operation and determines when your customers can schedule Pickup and Delivery orders. These hours apply to both in-store and online orders and are a critical part of your fulfillment setup. Use this article to walk through how to set up or adjust your availability by location.

Why It Matters

Availability settings directly impact your customer experience and internal operations. Configuring your business hours properly ensures that:

  • Pickup and Delivery options are only shown during valid timeframes
  • Fulfillment schedules align with your kitchen’s production hours
  • Online orders and scheduled pickups reflect real-world availability

💡 If your fulfillment hours differ from your general business hours, you can set separate Pickup and Delivery windows later in the eCommerce setup section.

How to Set or Edit Availability

To set your store’s regular operating hours:

  1. Go to the Settings menu
  2. Select Locations and choose the store you'd like to edit
  3. From the Location Details Menu, click the Availability tab
  4. Under the Normal Hours section:
  5. Set the Time Zone – This must match the physical location of your store to ensure accurate scheduling
  6. Set Weekly Hours:
  7. Use the toggle next to each day (Sunday–Saturday) to mark the store Open (orange) or Closed (gray)
  8. For open days, use the dropdowns to set Opening and Closing times
  9. Times are in a 12-hour format with AM/PM selectors
  10. Click Save when finished

💡 These hours will serve as your default Pickup and Delivery windows unless overridden by custom fulfillment settings.

Additional Tips

You can tailor availability on a per-day basis to reflect shorter weekends or midweek closures

Any day marked “Closed” will not appear as an available date for order pickup or delivery

Keep your hours synchronized across platforms, including your website, eCommerce storefront, and any printed materials

💡 TIP: Adjust availability in advance for holidays or events to avoid confusion and missed orders.
