Understanding and Using the Help Feature in BakeSmart

The help feature is a direct link to helpful articles, our SmartSearch feature, reporting bugs and issues with bakesmart.

What Can Be Accessed

The Help feature gives you quick access to:

  • SmartSearch for fast answers
  • A full library of Help Desk articles and walkthroughs
  • The BakeSmart news feed with updates and announcements
  • A feedback tool to report bugs or request help
  • Direct links to the BakeSmart website, Help Desk, and demo scheduling

How to Access the Help Feature

From anywhere in BakeSmart, click the pink HELP icon located in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

This opens the Help Desk panel, which has three main tabs at the bottom:

  • Home
  • News
  • Provide Feedback

Explore the Tabs

 

Home Tab

At the top, you’ll see the SmartSearch bar
💡 Type a question or keyword (e.g., “add user,” “edit product”) to get a summary and list of relevant articles.

Below the search, you’ll find three buttons that link directly to:

  • The BakeSmart website
  • The full Help Desk knowledge base
  • A scheduling platform to book a live demo
    💡 Use the demo link to explore features your bakery may not be using yet!

 

News Tab

This opens a feed of recent announcements, new features, and article releases from BakeSmart

  • Click on any article to expand and read
  • Use Dismiss or Mark All as Read to clear notifications from your feed

 

Provide Feedback Tab

  • Opens a side panel where you can:
  • Upload screenshots or videos of an issue
  • Write a brief description of the problem or feedback
  • This submission goes straight to our BakeSmart specialists
    💡 Our team may also ask you to use this feature if you're already working with support and need to send additional details.

Tips for Using the Help Feature

  • Use SmartSearch before reaching out—many questions are answered in detail within our articles
  • The feedback tool is ideal for reporting visual issues or bugs (screenshots really help!)
  • Be sure to close the Help Desk by clicking the HELP button again when you're done—it will return you to the Dashboard
